2015 Here We Come!
Just a little wrap-up of the past year…
January found us at the Wonderful World of Weddings, talking to brides and inviting them to visit Waukesha Floral for their perfect flowers. We were also busy packing away our commercial and home accounts after the holidays, plus we traveled to gift shows to purchase fabulous things for the next year.
The cold month of February brings warm hearts, and is a whirlwind of roses and chocolates for Valentine’s Day.
The Festival of Flowers is celebrated in March, and benefits The Interfaith Senior Programs. This year, luncheons and shows were held at 11 am and 1 pm, plus a well-attended special afternoon tea presented by The Steaming Cup. Save the date for March 18th, 2015!
April brings Easter and loads of lilies for area churches and homes. This past April, we got a little cheesy with flowers for the Cheesemakers convention in Milwaukee. Administrative Professional’s Day rounds out the month.
Flowers and Mother’s Day marks May, preschool tours of the greenhouse and bedding plant sales, proms and the start of high wedding season, graduation flowers and plant rental.
June is Father’s Day, planting season and another trip to market for the following year’s Spring and Summer items.
The beautiful months of July and August typically are the busiest wedding months for Waukesha Floral. This coming August, we will be supplying flowers and plants to the PGA at Whistling Straights.
September brings Fall, Grandparents’ Day, back to school and a little relief to the hot hot greenhouse. And the poinsettias are planted!
October is Ladies Night. This year’s theme was “chick flicks”, and our designers made flowers to correspond with our favorite ladies’ night movies. The popcorn and slushies were a big hit! Homecomings give the high school kids the chance to order flowers, and Halloween was awesome, with a nice display of fun finds.
November starts the holiday season already! The first weekend brought the “Oh What Fun!” holiday open house. Did you see our Ugly Sweater tree or the signs of Christmas? And we never forget Thanksgiving, with beautiful centerpieces for local tables. Our designers begin to create custom holiday settings in corporate accounts and homes.
December is Christmas all the way! Corporate parties, decorating, and helping with your holiday gifts is our main focus. This year, Waukesha Floral was fortunate to be able to help the Food Pantry and Lake Country Yule Feed Families with a total donation of $5,000. The Waukesha Civic Theatre also saw a little something in their stocking from the shop.
Waukesha Floral and everyone here is truly blessed to be a part of this community. We appreciate your business in 2014. Have a happy, healthy 2015!
