The Gerbera Daisy is one of the happiest flowers in the shop! Big, bold and bright in a variety of colors, this perky posy is used for both cut flower arrangements and as outdoor bedding plants. The flowers on the plant can be as much as 4-5″ across and range from white to any shade of pink, red, yellow or orange you can imagine. They are great in bouquets or vases and require a water source to last the longest. As an outdoor plant, make sure they receive plenty of light and keep the soil slightly moist while blooming. As potted plants, they will last up to 6 weeks with proper care. When using them in outdoor planters, you may need to pop the plant out when it’s done blooming and replace with a new blooming annual for long lasting color.
This picture was given to us by one of the Art’s Cameras Flowers Close Up students and shows the intricate detail in each layer of the flower… details we seldom notice!
