Wedding Trends to Watch 2016

Our Waukesha Floral wedding designers love to talk with bridal couples about their wedding flowers.  January and February are popular months for consultations <call us or email us to set up an appointment>  Based on what we see in our floral blogs and magazines, Pinterest and The Knot, plus through our bridal consultations, we are able to forecast what the major trends will be for upcoming weddings.   Here are 4 trends that the Society of American Florists thinks we may see a lot of in the new year:

2016 Wedding Trends

  • Lustre: for the elegant or “trendy-luxe” theme. Rose-Gold tarnished metal, glitter, and sequins with high sheen finishes or spray-painted details accompany flowers such as carnations, mums, calla lilies, and garden roses.

  • Festival: for the eclectic or “Modern-Boho” theme. Pottery, colorful glass, and bright ceramics with beaded accents and ethnic-inspired prints accompany flowers such as sunflowers, daisies, and gerberas for a very free-spirited style.

  • Sorbet: for the bride who is sassy and vibrant and wants a mid-century modern theme. Geometric patterns, denim, and graphic floral prints combine with colorful ceramics, cork, and bark and wood in modernized shapes. Flowers that are popular with this look are peonies, dahlias, ranunculus, and tulips.
